FOUNDER - Mother’s International School, New Delhi

A senior year student in the Mother’s International School, New Delhi “A few months ago, I saw a clip of someone being given CPR while being unconscious and seated on a chair - this made me realize that the vast majority of people do not know how to deal with emergency situations properly.
Two weeks later, along with a medical professional, I conducted a first-aid and CPR session in school to members of the science club. What I noticed was that everyone who attended the session, including my teachers, was genuinely interested in learning the basic principles of first aid.
The lasting effects of ‘long COVID’ and the increase in cardiopulmonary disease rates due to pollution, particularly in cities like Delhi, have made knowing first aid an essential skill. India has the highest COPD rates in the world, and it is estimated that one in five adults suffer or will suffer with some sort of heart or lung condition in their lifetime.
I want to help more people, especially senior students to learn how to alleviate suffering or potentially save a life in emergency situations.
